'Return to Tiger Land' is hosted every year in Fort Polk, Louisiana allowing veterans and their families to be reunited with a post they once called home. Fort Polk is rich in American history - having been the post that trained the most combat infantrymen in America and then shipped Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. The post has since been called ‘Tiger Land.' For the duration of ‘Return to Tiger Land', veterans and their families can see, first hand, staged combat and rescue training, changing combat vehicles and some equipment used by the tiger battalion. For some veterans, the event marks the first time they've been back to Ft. Polk since their initial training in the 60's.
