Wild durian in the jungle, rainforest hiking, jungle cooking at campsite, and a dramatic 4WD journey on a muddy logging road — this adventure to Gunung Gerah Bilah Bieh (GBB) in Pos Dakoh, Kelantan had everything… including a wheel literally falling off. Welcome to The Lazy Woman Diary, where I constantly question my life choices in the mountains. On this 4 Days 3 Nights Gunung Gerah Bilah Bieh expedition, we hiked deep into the Malaysian rainforest, discovering wild tropical fruits along the trail and cooking a proper meal at camp. Along the way we found buah tampoi, enjoyed wild durian, and cooked a Japanese chicken curry and rice from scratch, with a simple tomato and egg dish — what I would definitely consider a luxury campsite meal in the jungle. During hiking days I usually eat quite lightly for breakfast and lunch, just enough to keep moving on the trail. But once I reach the campsite, that’s when I make myself a proper feast. Because if I’m going to question my life choices climbing mountains… the food had better be good. But the adventure wasn’t over yet. After visiting a hidden waterfall deep in the rainforest, we still had 60 kilometres of rough logging road to get back to civilisation. Halfway through that muddy journey, our 4WD suddenly gave way — one of the wheels literally came off.
