Here frontend and backend both works. Document-driven DSS-is the type of DSS used to search online documents or webpages based on the specific keywords. Knowledge-driven DSS-is the type of DSS is actually used in expert systems where knowledgebase is used to store and process the knowledge. Model-driven DSS- is the type of DSS is used by managers and staff members where the decisions are based on specific models already might be existing. Decisions here can be based on single or multiple models. Web-Based DSS- is the type of DSS which is hybrid form of all above types of Decision Support Systems and are entirely based on web technologies. It harnesses the advantages of all of these and combines them as per the specific need.
