Vostok-Europe Energia Chronograph Mecha-Quartz

Craig Hester here with R2Awatches.com. Today we're talking about the brand new mecha-quartz version of the Vostok Europe Energia. These Energias are quartz chronograph watches. Why are they called mecha-quartz? Because each has a hybrid movement wherein most of the watch is run by a standard quartz movement, but there is also a module in there for the chronograph that's actually mechanical. These are certified dive watches, with the required unidirectional rotating bezel. In addition, each mecha-quartz Energia has a helium release valve, important not so much because one would ever use it, but because it's indicative of the quality construction of the watch. In closing, these mecha-quartz Energias are 48mm watches, each has the K1 gorilla glass system, and in addition, tritium tube technology which offers constant illumination.
