Another October has come and gone... we have been working hard preparing the gardens for winter... pruning, cutbacks, mulching etc has occupied a lot of our time... then too... enjoying what we have created over the past 53 years in a garden begun from scratch... empty pasture-land... I grew up in the forests and mountains of Vermont and have missed that immensely over the years... now in my 77th year, I finally have a sense of what I experienced in my youth... right here in the gardens I've planted with the help of my wife and early on , our children... it's a great life and a calming place to be for whatever the future may bring...
