Sheer madness and pattern hacks! Pattern review NewLook 6573, Butterick 5955 8-1-22

Well this was an interesting challenge, to use sheer fabric! We both ended up doing pattern hacks and both suggested to consult your sewing manual for best results. Dee made NewLook 6573 from a chiffon fabric she purchased a while ago from Walmart at $1/yard. Dory made Butterick 5955 from fabric she picked up at a thrift store. She put binding on every raw edge because it was a "frayer" and she didn't like the way the serger looked. She changed her stitch length to 1.8 and used a 80/12 needle. The front and back, plus the yoke she put on the fold instead of sewing a seam like the pattern asked for.
