Israel exposes Hamas for ‘lying’ about the group’s return of hostage remains

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) has called out Hamas for “lying” about the remaining bodies of hostages yet to be returned. The IDF posted to X, claiming they have evidence of Hamas moving body remains from a structure before re-burying them nearby. Israel also accused Hamas of returning partial remains of a hostage on Monday, not matching any of the 13 deceased hostages still believed to be in Gaza. The remains of the body reportedly belonged to hostage Ofir Tzarfati, whose body was the one captured by the IDF and being re-buried. According to the IDF, Tzarfati’s body would then be uncovered again in front of Red Cross representatives before being returned to Israel. According to The Australian, Mr Tzarfati’s body was not one of the 13 hostages remains Israel awaited for their return.
