Israeli PM Netanyahu rejects White House plan for so-called "Board of Peace" for Gaza | DW News

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected the White House's plan for the so-called "Board of Peace" that will temporarily oversee the governance of Gaza, saying it was not coordinated with Israel and is contrary to the Israeli government's policy. Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner have been named as board members. Trump himself will be chairman, as outlined in the initial ceasefire plans last October. The board will be in charge of monitoring a Palestinian technocratic body for a transitional period. Meanwhile, many Gazans are struggling through a cold winter in flimsy tents. They are cautiously hoping that the next stage of the ceasefire will include the reconstruction of their homes.
