I thought about making this video without speaking but that would've been kinda hard so I elected to not. Link to library: https://github.com/Pm7-dev/ParticleLib Original Cymaera inspiration: • Arbitrary colors in Minecraft Storm (Tetris) Wildcard footage used: • A Solution is Applied - Cheapleg: Episode 6 - @Piffin380 • Bootleg Cheap Life Episode 4 - Orange Sky - @verylukely • Bootleg Cheap Life: Episode 6 - Anomaly De... - @DanDanPlushMC Notes about the particlelib project that I couldn't fit into the video: Originally, this project was going to be only the 2D system, which I had thought to make right after @heledron's text display video first came out. However, I wasn't able to work on it right away since I was right in the middle of making the Worms wildcard (coincidentally also inspired by cymaera) for bootleg cheap life. Somewhere along the way I kinda forgot about the idea. It was actually seeing the awesome death effects in @Kortenue's life series skripts that made me remember this and motivated me to actually start working on it. At this point in time having completed the Storm wildcard, I had the idea to use shaders to expand the system to 3D and immediately started playing around with things. This library works entirely without a texture pack if you only plan to use the 2D particles or 3D particles using only the default Minecraft items. The only thing the texture pack is needed for is making custom image particles, coloured cube particles, or custom item model particles you want to add in. The texture pack itself might not be up to date at the time you are seeing this. Shader modification in resource packs is not supported and has already had major changes in 1.21.2, 1.21.5, 1.21.6, 1.21.9, 1.21.11, and even in the 26.1 snapshots. I'll try and keep the resource pack up to date every time they edit the entity shaders, but I might miss some lol. My theory for these quick-succession shader updates is that Mojang is getting ready for adding vibrant visuals to java edition. ngl I don't really expect anyone except me to actually use the library, since I doubt many plugin devs will even see the video, but I mainly wanted some practice formally documenting and publishing code (along with being able to make a neat showcase). Notes about the video production: I'm overall very happy with the result of this video. I think the blender shots help as visuals and the actual editing is a step up from what I've previously done. I'm not used to recording with my voice or talking to nobody in particular, so I do think my voice sounds super unnatural & awkward, but hopefully I'll get better at it!! I don't really mind seeing comments/jokes about my voice... technically it's your problem to deal with it :3 The sfx for the fireworks were edited in, and it was so much more annoying to do than if I would have just added them to the custom firework in the plugin. Not sure why I didn't do that lol I'm really enjoying using blender for renders in videos. I hope I have an excuse to do more of those in the future. I lied about not having shown the movement emitter before the point where I talk about it. It's used in the firework's smoke trail particle, but I couldn't think of a better way to transition into talking about the movement emitter. Video originally finished on 12.12.25 (started sometime in early November, although the particle library project was started much earlier), If this gets released a lot later, it's because I was waiting for a chance to speak in someone else's video before speaking in my own. (oh hey look I did that now) 2^7 subs!! yippee!!
