David, though hunted and hiding in caves found his refuge in God, making the Lord his true stronghold. This message explains why Israelites demand for a king was a reflection of rejecting God being their own King, How the world’s system still operates the same today, and how fear of man leads to torment while the fear of God leads to peace. We also see how the Old Covenant points to Christ, how God’s wrath was ultimately placed on Jesus and how believers today are called to live under God’s kingship through the New Covenant. True freedom begins when our minds are governed by God’s Word, not by the words of the worlds. When we believe The Truth, The Truth sets us free. Old Covenant: → God did not change - He was always Holy, Just & Loving. → But people experienced God's wrath against sin. → Israel experienced slavery - judgement - deliverance. → Physical circumcision was the covenant sign. New Covenant (In Christ): → Wrath is placed on Jesus → Jesus is the true Promise Land - our rest, provision and peace. → Covenant sign is now spiritual circumcision of the heart "God has not changed - but we are in the new covenant."
