Ripping an SACD using a Sony BDP-S590 Blu-Ray player. Works on many Sony units.

There is now a method to rip SACDs to .iso files using some Blu-Ray players. The good news is 2 fold: 1) There is no longer a need to hunt down old Sony PlayStation 3 units that have the early firmware before this loophole was patched. 2) These old Sony Blu-Ray players can be purchased for ~£35. There are 2 ways to do this. 1) AutoRip. The method on this video is the most straightforward. Download the AutoRip version for your player and stick it on a blank USB flash drive. Stick the flash drive into the player's rear USB port. The tray opens and closes automatically and ripping begins. This exposes a TCP server on port 2002, which you can connect to from a PC, Mac, Linux etc. and transfer the data over the network.
