This is the great Earl 'Fatha' Hines theme song. The well known jazz standard 'Yardbird Suite' by Charlie Parker uses more or less the same chords. Earl Hines has often been credited along with the other greats of jazz piano (Art Tatum, Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson ) as being one of the fathers of modern jazz piano. This is an easy song to use as a basis for solo piano improvisation with its simple melody and minimal chord changes. As with other uploads I have done, the transcription (much better than the scrolling notation on the video) can be accessed on my website.
