Topre is my favourite tactile switch. The dome-with-slider design is great because of how silencing works. The bottoming out happens with the dome collapsing onto the PCB, and can not be silenced any further. It's the upstroke that gets silenced with whatever material you choose to go between the slider housing and the bottom of the plunger. Upon return, unsilenced sliders clack onto the top housing with plastic-on-plastic contact. Silencing only the upstroke doesn't effect the feel of the switch, so silenced Topre is my favourite silent tactile as well. The integrated plastic plate of the HHKB is something that many owners like, they mention it having some flex. While I don't notice any in particular, I do notice that my domes sound significantly different in here than in my Realforce with a steel plate. These domes are the stars of the show! Deskeys domes are the best there is for me. The weighting of the Pink domes are a bit lighter than stock 45g Topre, but the tactile event is nice and snappy. It still keeps the nice bottom out feel of stock Topre, as opposed to BKE-Redux style domes from Keyclack. I highly recommend these Pink domes if you find 45g just a bit to heavy, but want a bit more tactility. Deskeys Purple domes also exist and weigh about the same as 45g Topre. I highly recommend these - I've done a few essays with these and don't tire out when writing. Keyboard: HHKB Professional Classic. Plate: Integrated ABS plastic.
