Speaker Seah Kian Peng wraps up Budget 2026 and Committee of Supply debates

Speaker of the House Seah Kian Peng closed the 2026 Budget and Committee of Supply debates on Friday (Mar 6), namechecking Taylor Swift, Aaron Kwok, the Black Eyed Peas and Bon Jovi, and thanking MPs who kept their speeches and clarifications succinct. He noted that there was only one official break during the proceedings to give Members a chance to seek clarifications and joked that it was not a test of stamina. “It was certainly not to test one’s stamina without the need to go for a bio break. Having said that, I established a new personal record for myself by being in the same seat for a good six hours and ten minutes,” he said.
