Discussing Historical African Martial Arts with Adam

The VB Crew had the pleasure to interview Adam Myrie of the Historical African Martial Arts (HAMA) Association. We covered topics ranging from the history behind HAMA, sword and buckler in the HAMA tradition, Africa in World War 2, and the Mamluk Project. The Mamluk Project is a research project being undertaken by the HAMA Association to translate the 15th Century manuscript “Kitāb al-makhzūn jāmiʻ al-funūn” (The Treasure that Combines All Arts). This manuscript is the most comprehensive manuscript historians have of the Mamluk Martial Art. The video is mostly audio friendly.
