A 47-year-old man holds his hands. Then he lets go. The 18-year-old falls 20 meters. A few hours earlier, the police searched the apartment of 47-year-old Walter G. (name changed). He learned that 18-year-old Timo K. (name changed) had reported him for sexual abuse. Walter G. then entered Timo K.'s room armed with a knife and an axe and forced him to write two suicide notes. In them, the 18-year-old announced his suicide and retracted the accusations against Walter G. The 47-year-old then took Timo K. to the dam and dropped him into the depths. Timo K. survived with a lot of luck. Walter G. lived for a time at a campsite very close to the dam. He repeatedly invited young people to his place. He gained their trust by hosting small parties, letting them hang out, and assisting them with things like dealing with the authorities. It was a perfidious system, as Walter G. committed serious sexual violence against the children for more than eight years. He frequently abused them when they stayed overnight in his mobile home. He threatened the young people with harm or harmed them or their families if they told them about the sexual violence. Our host Hamzi spoke with Andreas Dick from the Cologne Criminal Investigation Department about the case. He provided insights into the course of events and the investigation.
