First stage of a simple gelcoat repair on glass fibre sailing dinghy – Gel filler coat

In this first video, we demonstrate how to rub down the area around a small gel knock on the gunwale with rough grade sandpaper, show you what materials to use to undertake the repair, how to mix the different materials to produce filler gel to fill the deep groove, and finally how to apply the filler gel. This repair is shown on a Laser 1 – the exact same process can be followed for repairs on all other glass fibre sailing dinghies such as the Solo, Enterprise, GP14, Wayfarer, Wanderer, Supernova, Laser 2000, Rs100,200,300,400,500,600,700,800, Vareo, and Aero, to name but a few.
