Theatre for a Change and OYO Partnership Film - Towards a New Performance Methodology

This short documentary captures a unique interdisciplinary, cross-cultural collaboration between Theatre for a Change (TfaC) in Malawi and Ombetja Yehinga Organisation (OYO) in Namibia. In June 2025, both organisations worked together at TfaC's training facility in Lilongwe to develop a new performance methodology blending theatre, movement, dance and audience participation around themes of gender equality and sexual and reproductive health and rights. Both TfaC and OYO are now using this exciting new methodology as part of their arts-based advocacy work in Malawi and Namibia respectively. The collaboration happened as part of the Support for Cultural Operators in Africa (AOCA) project. We wish to thank Institut Français for their support in making this collaboration possible.
