In order to ensure optimal performance and efficiency in this project, it is essential to address proper design. It is worth noting that this is not the first time we have explored vehicle development in this pipeline, having previously presented both a line follower and gesture-controlled vehicle. While the goal of surpassing the speed of the previous line follower robot would be the most feasible, my focus is on getting close to the speeds achieved by racing vehicles. To achieve this, it is essential to keep the weight of the vehicle as light as possible, ensure a proper centre of gravity and allow the robot to efficiently adjust its speed as it navigates the track, overcoming obstacles such as tight turns, sharp turns and changes in the line pattern. A well-placed centre of gravity plays an essential role in the stability and agility of the robot, allowing it to navigate these challenges accurately at high speed, which is often critical to competing in high-level line following races.
