West, psychiatrist and head of the psychiatric department at the University of Oklahoma. West is discussing his involvement in a sit-in that occurred on March 18, 1961 in front of the Anna Maude Cafeteria in the Cravens Building located in downtown Oklahoma City. West also discusses need for integration for future generations, growing protests and awareness of racial discrimination, calling for the community to change. The concept of inequality was the issue and was not limited to African Americans in West's opinion.
