The end of October, like the end of November can only mean one thing, time for a hunting trip! So it's off to North Carolina for what is becoming my annual Southern Deer Camp for the year. Join Marc, Mark, Ken, and myself for our 3 day deer hunt in the Rocky Mount North Carolina area at Daughtridge Farms Outfitters. The weather was cool in the mornings, and good the first afternoon, It got a tad warm the following afternoons, and of course that brought out our mosquito friends. Bring that Thermacell with you! Over the course of three days, I spotted a total of 16 deer, and on the first evening, I successfully harvested a magnificent buck. But it's not just about the hunt, though. It's the camaraderie and cherished moments spent with friends and family that make these trips truly special. Marc also had his share of success, bagging a nice doe on the second morning. We had some good food along the way. I cooked up some tomahawks Sunday evening on the pellet grill (Thank you Andrew!) As always Miss Trude made some more fantastic meals for us. Breakfast and the dinners each night were great tasting, and really hit the spot after a long day. We never went away hungry.
