CORRECTION! It's not Asia's largest, its one of Asia's largest. Bangalore KR Market is one of Asia's top 5 largest flower markets. I can already imagine the number of comments I will get just correcting me. Anyway, the day starts at 4.30AM on market days and we are on the road by 5.30. KR Market is crazy chaotic all day long, and early mornings is no different. There is traffic, noise, people and crowd. If you are not used to that, it can be a bit of an issue. The best way to navigate buying flowers is to start from one end and walk up the road and check the prices of things you like, the pricing is usually constant with a 10 or 20 rupees difference between vendors. Don't buy anything until you've checked the whole street and then on your way back, buy what you want and keep moving. Thats it. Its an experience in itself. I have been there several times, but every single time it amazes me. We have a set schedule for flower market days, we buy our flowers and then have a nice hot breakfast and a cup of filter coffee before getting back home by 8AM. Then I fill up a bucket with water and go about filling my flowers in them and then collect my vases. This time I wanted to make a nice good flower arrangement with my vintage pickle jars. So I got to work with two bunches of flowers and all the bharnis that I could find. I am going to enjoy my little arrangement for a week or so.
