Hi everyone, I’m Mike, and she’s Jackie, and we do covers of the finest tunes from the 1960s to the present. Thank you kindly; on with our song. “There is a Time,” originally written and recorded by The Dillards. We chose to use music from a family bluegrass-gospel group called New Jerusalem Bluegrass, out of West Virginia. They put a video of this song out 13 years ago and got over 50,000 views. We like this particular cover because they went with a slower tempo that I felt made the lyrical content more understandable. It fit our own style well and was quite enjoyable to play and sing along with. Jackie sang lead vocal and added all of the harmonies, and I replaced their double bass with my Hofner. We feel we made this a worthy cover and think you may feel the same way. Finally, this was yet another song idea we “stole” from The Andy Griffith Show. Andy did this song on two different episodes; once along with the Darling clan (the Dillards) in Andy’s living room, and another time as a solo on the front porch for Aunt Bea and his cousin.
