They vow that neither will do anything about it. Leila though loves Nadir and they do start a relationship, thus Nadir breaks his vow to Zurga. Zurga finds out and consumed by jealousy and rage, he orders that both Nadir and Leila be put to death. A violent storm erupts and after the storm abates, Zurga regrets his decision.
