My second attempt to complete "Chiang Mai's Hardest Century," riding the road route linking Doi Saket to Chae Son, back home via the Kew Fin - Mae Kampong village road. This route is incredibly tough, even in the best weather its still a challenge, and today I am rewarded with the chance to give it a shot for myself. Waking up at 2:30am, this is a story of my ride and my day, thank you so much for joining me! The "Hornbill 200" ride on Strava (Ride Data + Map of the entire route) is here: / strava LOCATION: Here is the peak of the Kew Fin Park, behind the popular tourist area and picturesque village of "Mae Kam Pong." https://maps.app.goo.gl/n6WTTcDhH8pTL... *In case you are curious about the truth of the video title today, here are the exact numbers! So my energy use for the riding part of today (7hrs44min) was 5,449kJ, adding over an hour of descending/rolling (might add about 300 Calories) getting me to around 5,800, plus my own daily intake of around 2,200 Cal today = roughly 8,000 Calories* (and I probably ate about 7,000 Cal today, meaning that all in all today's effort probably saw me lose about 1 pound, probably slightly less).
