The Road to 300: Utah challenge begins! I’m trying to see 300 bird species in Utah, and with 285 already on my list, we’re kicking things off by searching wetlands, fields, and open water for our next target. Along the way, we encounter an incredible mix of birds — from elegant grebes and striking avocets to massive pelicans and my favorite hawk species. We’ll also explore an amazing story of how researchers are using GPS trackers and weather radar to help airports avoid collisions with pelicans, making flying safer for everyone.
