We started our journey in the middle of the night from Nallathanniya (Dalhousie) to reach the peak before dawn. Pilgrimage Season: Full moon of December to full moon of April (Dry Season). The Climb: 5,500+ stone steps. It takes 2.5 to 4 hours to go up and 2 hours to come down. Best Time to Start: Aim to start between 1:30 AM and 2:30 AM to secure a spot for the 6:00 AM sunrise. What to Wear: It is FREEZING at the top but sweaty on the way up. Wear layers! A light jacket, hat, and gloves are highly recommended for the summit. ⚠️ Important Travel Tips: Avoid Poya Days: Full moon days and weekends are incredibly crowded. You might get stuck in "human traffic" for hours. Try to climb on a weekday!
