After his time with The Sinceres and a period in military service, Billy Johnsen formed a new group to record the songs "Your Wedding Day" and "Rocket to the Moon". This group comprised three members from The Sinceres—Billy Johnsen himself, Buddy, and Patty—along with two neighborhood friends, BB and Josie. Josie was noted for his first tenor voice, while BB was an arranger whose sister had a singing voice comparable to Barbra Streisand. The recording session happened on a Saturday morning following a Friday night out. The guys yelled up to Billy telling him they wanted to make a record. They recorded in a studio located in a guy's basement. They made only two cuts of each song, which were of very good quality, with each member paying $5 and receiving a record in return. Billy Johnsen wrote the flip side, "Rocket to the Moon," while "Your Wedding Day" was penned by Mike and Georgie, whom Billy wished he could reconnect with. Patty, the second tenor, was recognized for his smooth voice.
