Exploring 150 Years Old Rural Onsen Inn & Unique Shrine Of Cliffside Architecture In Ozu city, Ehime

#ehime #japantravel #onsen Thank you for being here :) In this video, I was visiting Ozu-city, in ehime prefecture, the 5th prefecture out of my travel through all the 47 prefectures in Japan 🇯🇵 (I'd be happy if you comment your thoughts and share 😊) After experiencing cormorant fishing and river rafting on the Hiji River, and finishing lunch, we headed to the Red Brick Building near Asagiri Station. The building, which was once used as a bank built in Meiji period, retained its old-fashioned charm both inside and out, making it an interesting place to explore. There was a café space on the second floor where we enjoyed craft cola made with local specialties. Next, we took a rickshaw to Koyabu Onsen, a hot spring inn about 30 minutes by car from the city center. The hot spring, known for making skin smooth, lived up to its reputation and felt wonderful. The inn, run by a family including the proprietress, had a warm and homey atmosphere with everyone being very kind, which made for a very comfortable stay. I learned properly about how to make umeboshi (pickled plums) for the first time, enjoyed delicious meals, and spent a luxurious time at this inn surrounded by nature. Then we returned to Ozu city center, stayed one night at the guesthouse run by Mr. Miyaoka, who had been our guide for the river rafting, and set out for the Ozu Ukai Bar, a special event held once a month.
