Slotted Origami “Shafer” star system

This video shows two stars created to show the possible creations using long slotted rectangle to create a unique star. These are just 2 of many possibilities. I have named this system to honor Jeremy Shafer who is one of my favorite origami designers. He is known for creating many whimsical and unique creations. On several creations he made movies of how to fold interconnected rings. This has inspired me to create a system to make stars that begins by folding interconnected loops that can be shaped into the points of stars. My method for making interconnected loops requires either cutting or folding slots across the rectangle. The first star show here uses a long rectangle with cut slots. The second star shown at the end of the video uses folded slots and the rectangle is not cut at all. Make sure to view the video to the end to see the uncut version.
