I picked up comics as a way to step back from my phone, and they ended up becoming one of the most engaging ways I consume stories. Comics sit somewhere between TV and books; a full narrative paired with compelling images, which makes them especially easy to stay focused on. If you have an ADHD brain (or just a distracted one), the visuals do a lot of the work. The art pulls your attention back in, while the story still has depth and emotional weight. It’s passive enough to relax, but engaging enough to actually hold interest. They’re surprisingly approachable, even if you’ve never followed a series, collected issues, or cared about superheroes. These are 10 of my favorite comic books and graphic novels that pulled me in and stuck with me. 0:12 Why I Got Into Comics (Without Being a Comic Person) 1:33 The Weather Man 2:11 Ghost Pepper 3:06 Mouse Guard 3:58 Slightly Exaggerated 4:47 Something Is Killing the Children 5:55 The Moon Is Following Us 6:32 Eight Billion Genies 7:09 It’s Lonely at the Centre of the Earth 8:04 Absolute Wonder Woman 9:07 Karmen 10:45 Final Thoughts & Up Next My Current Top 10 (Creator Credits) 10.
