We visit the Trans-Canada Highway route through Montreal: Autoroute 40, the Metropolitan Autoroute. Running elevated through the heart of Montreal Island, it is the busiest highway in Quebec, and second busiest in Canada. We travel east from Dorval, through Montreal, Montreal-Est before we cross the Pont Charles de Gaulle into Charlemagne, before ending the video in Repentigny. The sections of A-40 in this video opened between 1959 and 1971.
