REVIEW: Shiryou Sensen: War of the Dead for PC Engine is a 1989 remake/reimagining of an MSX title of the same name, a horror action RPG considered by many to be the first survival horror game, even before Sweet Home on the Famicom. This PC Engine version also came out before Sweet Home, which makes it an even earlier example of the genre, though there is some debate on whether it qualifies as survival horror, as is the case with most old horror games not called Sweet Home, Resident Evil or Alone in the Dark.
