[Switch on the Subtitle button for the best viewing experience] I enjoy taking videos of road scenes while traveling. Stepping out of the airport, the roads are usually the first sights that greet me, providing me with the initial glimpse of the country or place I am visiting. Upon arriving in Hawaii, my first impression was that everything is big, which I suppose holds true for the United States in general. This trip marked my first time in Hawaii and my second time in the United States, exactly ten years after my previous visit. It feels surreal to return to a country that constantly makes headlines in world news and whose culture is exported worldwide. The roads, houses, and cars are bigger than what I am used to, making me feel small and tiny, yet also excited to be part of something bigger. Strangely, when I am surrounded by grand things, I feel hopeful and imagine that I, too, can achieve great things. As I pass each building or each house, I take note of their designs. I imagine the lives of the people living in the coastal city of Honolulu. And I imagine, if I will ever get the opportunity to own a dream house by the coast. Hawaii offers a feast for the eyes. Whether from my hotel room, the peak of Diamond Head, or standing at the top of the Koko Crater Railway, the view of the vast blue ocean and the outlines of mountains never fail to take my breath away. Afraid that these breathtaking scenes might disappear, I capture every picturesque moment with my phone. Hawaii is also a treat for the senses. The rhythmic crashing of the waves against the shoreline is therapeutic to my ears and soothes my soul. Soft yellow sands crumble under my toes with each step I take on the sands of the beaches. The cool chilly water embraces me as I dip my toes in them or swim. For the longest time, Hawaii has been at the top of my bucket list and I always knew that I had to visit this place one day. Fortunately, my company kindly sponsored this trip for a reunion event. Meeting my teammates and forming new relationships with colleagues from different offices was a memorable experience, one that I will forever cherish.
