Could you describe it in detail? Doctor: Let us consider the brain and spine. When we talk about neurological disorders, we base it on the brain and spine. The problems that affect the brain and spine are as follows. It can be right from childhood. We call it congenital anomalies. That is, when a child is born with a condition like developmental delay of the brain, being paralyzed in the limbs or they are born with a lipoma in the spinal cord. Those are congenital disorders. That is the first type where a child is born with the disorder. The second thing is traumatic injury, be it a head injury or a spine injury, the injury related disorders is a separate category. The third type is infections. There are a lot of contagious diseases. Be it bacterial infection or fungal infection or black fungus, such infections can affect the brain. Due to those infections, the most common type of disease one can get is TB. There is a parasite called cysticercosis that is found in food. That goes to the brain. So such infection related disorders are a separate category. The fourth type is tumors. Space occupying entities, the tumor could be benign or cancer type. Such a group is called neoplastic or tumor related. The fifth is the functional type. When we say functional, we refer to seizures. Some call it nervous weakness and many call it tremors, or severe body pain, facial pain and similar pains are called functional disorders. The next type of disorder is inflammatory disorders. When it comes to inflammatory disorders you could consider rheumatoid arthritis. Such autoimmune diseases(Autoimmune is nothing but a person's immunity affects their own body) is one category.
