When I have a different color bobbin than my top thread - - or when I have a need to quilt beyond my throat space without cutting thread, I like to adjust my quilt on the longarm frame so that the batting is positioned securely with the quilt top and the backing, allowing me to move the quilt and move it back without messing up the batting. This gives me the opportunity to roll the quilt and look at the back, and then roll it right back to where I was stitching.
