Why is London Underground Full of Human Skeletons?

🗺 🌎 Map Pack with +200 for You to Start Your Channel Today: https://pay.kiwify.com.br/2FGV3Ur ➡ Route: Below London, there is another city, much larger and much deeper, with several layers. This forgotten underground world, full of hidden technologies, secret bankers, intricate tunnel networks and its own skeletons - both real and symbolic. But what is really hidden beneath the city? And why was it built? Every year, around nineteen million tourists visit London. As they admire the skyscrapers, they have no idea that they are literally walking on bones - and that is no exaggeration. Let's imagine that we are drilling London with an imaginary drill and see how quickly we can reach someone's remains beneath the city. The first layer to be drilled is the paving, a tough material, but our imaginary tool does the job. By breaking up the stone blocks, we may come across something unexpected: a material that, at first glance, seems ordinary, but should not be there: a thick layer of wood. In 1873, Londoners noticed that horses and carriages were making a lot of noise on the stone paving. So they had a brilliant idea: to pave the streets with wooden blocks. What could possibly go wrong? Well, let me tell you. The manure and waste from the horses soaked into the wood, filling the streets with an unbearable smell. The lack of hygiene caused disease, rotting of the ground and hundreds of other problems, but we will get through this layer. Let's continue our descent into the city's subsoil. Just below the pavement, we find only dirt, but as we go through it, a tangle of wires and pipes appears. Nothing too impressive so far, but wait. What follows will surprise you. Just five feet below London, there are Roman houses complete with bathing pools and even churches. It's over 2,000 years old Ancient Rome building houses is not exactly new, but here's a fun fact: some of them already had underfloor heating. A rudimentary central heating system. In the 2nd century AD, these buildings used furnaces to heat the air, which circulated under the floor and through cavities in the walls, keeping the environment cozy. A technology from the ancient world that has not survived to this day in many regions. Over time, the view was blocked by a defensive wall built by the local authorities. Around the 3rd century, wealthy homeowners decided to modernize their homes by adding private bathrooms. These bathrooms had three rooms: a cold room, a hot room and, of course, a warm room. Let's imagine that we fast forward a hundred and fifty years and the roof of the house has collapsed. 📢 Copyright and Use of Content: This is an original production by the EconoSimples channel. 📜 All rights reserved. 📚 Usage Rules: Educational Distribution 🎓: Allowed for use in seminars, classrooms or any type of in-person educational purpose, as long as credits to the EconoSimples channel are duly provided.
