Lynsey's parents moved to Normandy in 2016, so we decided to spend the week with them in September to celebrate Lynsey's birthday. Arriving in Tours, we spent then night at a Gite nearby before heading to Zooparc de Beavual. This was our first visit to a European zoo, and WOW, what a zoo it is! So many amazing species - manatees, orangutans, giant pandas, hippos, tree kangaroos, koalas and most are in spectacular exhibits - The underwater hippo viewing was amazing, and seeing manatees swimming around was fantastic. The walk-though tropical bird house is amazing too. We visited two demonstrations on the day, the sea lion show and bird display. Both were great, but the bird display (Les Maîtres des Airs) is simply the best bird display I have ever seen, with over 100 birds flying around at one time.
