What Caused The Crash of Harbour Air Flight 5209 | Analysis & Aftermath In this installment of Analysis & Aftermath we’re examining the recent accident involving Harbour Air Flight 5209 a De Havilland DHC-2 Beaver, which occurred on June 8th 2024 on Vancouver Harbour. This 75-year-old classic floatplane, registration C-FFHA collided with a boat under unique circumstances. Thankfully, all passengers survived, with only minor injuries reported. The aircraft itself, however, was destroyed — a tragic loss for aviation enthusiasts given the Beaver’s historic legacy. In this video, we’ll break down what is currently known about the accident, the operational context of the DHC-2 Beaver, and the factors that contributed to the crash.
