Hi everyone The environment agency are lowering the saline barrier in Potter Heigham. Storm Arwen caused high tides and with them usually comes a sea surge. The salt in the sea water kills the fish on the Norfolk Broads. The barrier is raised in the hope the fish will congregate in the basin out of the way of the salt water. The saline barrier is usually up for 3 days. The high tide takes longer to drain out to sea than usual so the salt concentrations stay high within the Broads.
