2025 Miracle Kid: Sarah Overcomes Heart Surgeries and Thrives With DiGeorge Syndrome

Sarah’s journey is one of strength, resilience and hope. Born with DiGeorge syndrome, she faced complex heart problems from the start, including 3 open-heart surgeries by the age of 2. In this video: 🔹 Sarah was born with pulmonary atresia and discontinuous pulmonary arteries, a life-threatening heart condition. 🔹 She underwent multiple heart surgeries to improve blood flow and give her a fighting chance. 🔹 In 2020, she faced a severe infection that required expert care and collaboration with CHOP. 🔹 After a brain injury, Sarah had to relearn how to walk, talk and eat. 🔹 Thanks to David Connuck, MD, dedicated doctors, advanced medical equipment and support from family and community, she continues to thrive. 🔹 Today, Sarah enjoys camp, swimming and ziplining — things her family once never thought possible. Sarah’s journey reminds us that miracles happen every day.
