Welcome to Off the Script Therapy, part of the Connection Through Reaction family. This channel is built on the idea that watching reaction videos can be therapeutic - whether it’s feeling seen, heard, or simply less alone. If this reaction resonated with you in any way, let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear what it meant to you. Off the Script Therapy is a reaction channel. This means that I react to whatever it is I am watching as a therapist, father, husband and son. As a therapist I tend to view things through a psychological lens, but I try to present that in a non-clinical way, instead through genuine reflection and sharing of my experience whether that is my thinking process or my emotional response. Everything expressed here is my own personal opinion. While I am a therapist, I’m not your therapist, and these videos aren’t professional therapy. They’re here to entertain, spark reflection, and maybe even offer a bit of comfort or insight along the way. The information provided here by Stuart are only intended for informational and entertainment purposes and are not a substitute for advice, diagnosis, or treatment regarding mental health or other medical conditions. You should contact your GP or equivalent to obtain advice with respect to any health (physical or mental) issue you may be facing. FAQs Q: Why do you pause so much? A: fair use. One of the principles of fair use is that my content cannot be a replacement for the original. It is arguable that playing a track all the way through means that someone does not have to go and listen to the original. Another principle is using the minimal amount necessary that I have commented on, therefore I need to comment frequently. Q: The artist/creator supports reactors, why do you keep pausing still. A: Quite often the copyright holder is different to the artist/creator. Q: Are you a real therapist? A: Yes I’m an accredited Cognitive and Behaviour Psychotherapist Q: What's with the sporadic upload schedule? A: Videos take time and money to edit for YouTube. I'm a clinician in practice with clients that have to come first. I'm also a final year PhD student completing my doctoral thesis - that is taking up a lot of my time. I also have a young family that I need to spend time with. Youtube sits firmly at the bottom of all of that. Q: Your reaction seemed quite generic and you didn’t talk about therapy. Why is that? A: I react to the track through my perspective as a human and respond accordingly. Sometimes that is through a therapy lens, sometimes it is as a father, husband, son, friend etc. Q: But the channel is called Off the Script Therapy. A: The name of the channel reflects various things. Some people find watching reactions therapeutic. They like the sense of connection and seeing someone experience something for the first time. This is one reason 'therapy' is in the channel name, because the whole context can be therapeutic. Another reason is that Off the Script Therapy is a reaction channel where I explore music through a psychological lens—but not in a clinical way. Instead, the channel offers honest and genuine in the moment reflections, and sharing of my thinking processes, from both my professional world and personal world as a father, husband and son. It is ‘off the script’ as I am talking candidly and not within a professional role.
