This makes it super easy to make this dish. Heat up your skillet to medium high, sauté half of your red onion, shallot and all of your garlic. Add your ground beef, break it down and brown. Discard most of the liquid, save some for flavor. Turn the flame down and its Time to build the sauce, add the ingredients to taste. About a tablespoon palm sugar, tbsp or 2 fish sauce, half a lime and about a tsp tamarind paste, mix well. Add toasted rice powder, mix. Add the rest of your aromatics and herbs, allow them to wilt a bit. Get your flavors right, more salt add fish sauce, more citrus add lime etc... Great with a side of white rice or fresh veggies!
