Ever since I began speaking up in these past months about my having been sexually assaulted by Philip Lee when I was 16 and he was the manager of the Living Stream Ministry, a couple "Blended Brothers" fell silent, though up to that point, at various stages they seemed willing to try help me in my marriage crisis. I and other advocates reaching out to them became stonewalled. Not one "responsible brother" - let alone any responsible one from the 1987 time period, ever asked me about what happened, in spite of a whistleblower's report, and no one has apologized for what I went through. Other victims moved away and/or disappeared. Thank God for those brothers, who endured being labeled rebellious and being lied about, even in Living Stream Ministry publications. I've been thinking of the collateral damages incurred through sexual abuse, particularly in a church community or other religious community that is your support system, your social circle, and your family/home in a sense. The actual families of victims are severely impacted, multigenerationally. I have been wondering if Philip Lee had any thought of all the lives he was damaging when he assaulted me and other sisters. I wonder if his dad who defended him realized the longterm effects of sexual assault on an individual, family, and community. I decided to write - and share - a song, to the tune of "Mary, Did You Know?" but called "Philip, Did You Know?" The recording is rough; I can't belt it out fully, with others in the home. Hopefully it is bearable. This video published 5 years ago says what I’ve tried to say this past year. • E55 - Max, John and Other Abuses - "T... Thankful for this brother speaking the truth to expose darkness. If we lie, we are in darkness. God is light. In Him is no darkness at all. In the light, we have fellowship. All the lies in TLR are prohibiting felliwship. All that can be done to truth tellers by those in darkness is cutting them off and lying more - about that. Let’s not lie; let’s walk in the light, speak truth, confess, and fellowship in the light. #thelocalchurch #livingstreamministry #thelordsrecovery #sexualassault #churchtoo
