Karl Linnas entered the United States under the Displaced Persons Act in 1951 but was later found to have led a Nazi concentration camp during World War II, which he did not disclose. He was denied discretionary relief from deportation, and his appeal was also rejected. Linnas argued that the Holtzman amendment, which requires the deportation of Nazi war criminals, was a bill of attainder, but the court disagreed. The court also rejected Linnas' claims of due process and equal protection violations. Linnas v.
