Welcome to Adaptive Technology

The following video is a brief introduction to the Adaptive Technology Course offered through the Graduate Institute. This course will explore key topics in the areas of adaptive and assistive technology with the aim of helping school and technology leaders with deciding which technologies to purchase and how to implement the use of assistive technology in the special education classroom, in post secondary schools such as college, as well as the home and work environment. To this end we will explore the hardware and software available to students with disabilities; provide theoretical and practical knowledge of how to conduct assistive technology evaluations; and familiarize you with a variety of funding sources available to acquire assistive technology for students with disabilities. Note- The term and adaptive and assistive technology will be used interchangeably throughout this course.
