Heavy rainfall has impacted Mumbai, Thane, and surrounding satellite cities, leading to widespread flooding. Areas including Thane, Ghodbunder Road, Kaimu, and China Creek experienced significant waterlogging, with some locations reporting around four feet of water. Train services between Thane and Mumbai have been disrupted, and numerous long-distance trains have been cancelled or rescheduled, leaving thousands of people stranded. Despite advisories issued by the BNMobile Corporation, Thane collectorate, and the state government urging residents to stay indoors unless necessary, many individuals were observed on roads, railway platforms, and bus depots due to personal and professional commitments. The region received over 400 ML of rainfall within two days, with one speaker noting that "an entire month of rainfall came crashing down in just over three days." Schools, colleges, and even the Bombay High Court operated with reduced hours or remained shut.
