the short story- my dad passed away recently he gave me my interest in computers, and this exact machine was the one i truly started learning with turns out we'd given it to a family friend who had held onto it for all these years i will use this computer again specs and unrequested commentary re: specs -insight computers custom built-in-the-USA weighing in at like 60 pounds full AT tower -genuine intel 486DX at a simply insane 33 million cycles per second -SIXTEEN MEGABYTES OF RAM, LIKE SERIOUSLY -creative labs sound blaster 2.0 ISA with delicious yamaha OPL2 FM synth -some trident VGA card i think -3.5 and 5.25 HD floppy drives and the 5.25 is drive A: as it should be THANK YOU VERY MUCH -40(?)mb primary HDD, 120mb secondary and at the time we installed it i never thought we could fill it -a single-x CD rom drive that you literally have to pull the whole drive out to use it i swear it's hilarious and infuriatingly slow when you actually try to use it -a tape drive that i don't even know what media it would even consume but i'll find some dangit -2" cone PC speaker mounted to steel resonance plate under that front grill to supply me with my necessary daily dose of square waves
