⚡️ Connect with me: https://dayonenotes.framer.website After relying on Android phones for over ten years, by buying a refurbished iPhone 15 Pro, I’m now switching to iPhone and iOS. This is an initial thought dump, a long-time Android user’s perspective on switching to iPhone. 📝 My notes on switching to iPhone: 1)) iOS Keyboard: The iOS keyboard takes some getting used to, it’s almost a bit too simple and not at all customizable, contrary to what I’m used to from Android. 2)) Google Photos/Apple Photos: As a long-time Google Photos user, the way you use Google Photos on an iPhone isn’t super intuitive. Automatic backup of screenshots is annoying. 3)) The iPhone Camera: The camera on this phone is incredible and it’s crazy being able to carry it around daily. 4)) Whatsapp Migration: The officially documented migration with the “Move to iOS” app is very finnicky and frustrating. 5)) Friends with iPhones: Making use of the Apple ecosystem benefits with friends that also own iPhones is super fun and intuitive. 6)) Face ID is a game-changer, so much better than any fingerprint reader. 7)) Design/Haptics/Materials: Everything about holding the iPhone in your hands is on a different level than any Android phone I’ve experienced so far. 8)) Apple Mail on iOS Problems: For gmail accounts the default apple mail app for iOS doesn’t support push notifications (with the option of manually fetching mails every 15 minutes), so I had to switch to the official gmail app. 9)) Volume Management sucks: Coming from the granular volume control Android offers, the simple iOS volume management is lacking. 10)) iPhone/Macbook Workflow: The ecosystem benefits in working with an iPhone and a Macbook simultaneously are massive. 11)) Notification Center: Coming from the simple but powerful notification management in Android, the iOS notification center seems very unintuitive. 12)) Overheating Issue: On one day the battery drained worryingly rapidly while the phone got super hot to the touch. This may have been an indexing process after an incremental iOS update or the X app malfunctioning, as reported by the battery manager. 🎶 Songs used in this video 🎶 “It’s A Feeling” by Infraction https://inaudio.org/track/its-a-feeli... “Feel So Good” by Infraction https://inaudio.org/track/feel-so-goo...
