If you watched the 2 videos of the Victorian house clean up then you will recognize this homeowner. He came and spoke with me quite a few times and even called the newspaper to tell them what I was doing. during the clean up he asked me how much I would charge to clean the siding on his house and it felt very good to tell him that i was no longer for hire but when I completed that job I would come over had clean the siding for him. thank you so much for supporting the channel by watching the videos and giving me the agility to be able to help people like that. I get the feeling that this home owner needed the conversation more that the help around the house but it also really brightened up his day. This was last year so it was fresh off of the heels of the whole stay at home and talk to no one or you will die thing that we all went through.....I ignored it and kept working but I know not everyone could do that. My point is that so many people are super lonely after that experience and it has no doubt changed how we all talk to each other and interact with each other. I think a lot of people have moved to using their social media to have a social life but for many people that is not an option and in general is give you a very shallow relationship experience with others. today I encourage you to stop and have a conversation with someone completely random and if you don't feel like you can do that work up to it by saying hi to you neighbors and not that half wave as you rush to the door after getting fast-food breakfast with no bra with crazy hair while your dressed in 4 day unwashed pajamas.... ya I know how some of you live lol I have my moments to hahah. If any of that offended you chill out you shouldn't be wearing your wife's bra anyways...it doesn't fit you right and your going to stretch it out. hahahh at this point I have offended someone. so my next challenge to you other than removing the "stick" if you are the easily offended is to attempt to right a relationship that needs mending. over the last few years there have been many emotionally charged "debates" but you know what they really were people just being ugly with each other because the were emotionally charged. I want to encourage you to reach out and start the healing process with a loved one or friend. remember to remove the emotion from the conversation if it gets heated say hey I can tell this is emotionally charged lets come back to this in a few hours or days. My late father in law who was a blessing to have met use to say " there is nothing that wont work out in the wash" that was his way of saying you can fix anything with a conversation. I miss Rachels dad a lot. I didn't get to know him long but I enjoyed staying up late and talking with him until the sun came up when I did get to see him. he was an awesome guy and really lived a very interesting life from growing up in the great depression / the Oklahoma dust bowl to his carrier as a sales rep ( a very useful skill by the way everything in life is a sale. if you don't believe me talk to a 2 year old, see if your not making a sale to get them to do anything ) and later he was a professional gambler. Its really crazy that my wife's father almost lived a double life and ran illegal games for several years as well. talk about some wild stories. I have been very blessed to have amazing In-laws and to make a full circle I know a lot of people are probably at odd with their in-laws. I want to say that if you love your spouse try to keep that relationship as good as possible it will remove a lot of unneeded stress from your relationship but your spouse needs that relationship. I can say that with 100% experience. my mother in-law and I use to butt heads all the time. The thing is that my mother in-law is really good at pointing out when your acting like a Jackass in life. She points it out more poetically and with nothing but loving intent but it feels the same as when you were little and you had to stand in a corner and think about what you did. That at one point was very difficult for me to handle because I am sometimes way to damn sensitive to criticism....you can see that in the comment section of my videos from time to time. lol I try not to lash out to negativity but everyone is human and just like anyone else sometimes I enjoy it even though I shouldn't. it just feels good to give someone a ( what for!) but when its all said and done it means nothing, you proved nothing and no one benefits from it. Calm impactful conversation that is not ruled by emotion is the goal. kind and loving words that encourage others to be at their highest good, that's my personal goal. I cant tell you what your goal with communication should be Im just opening up inner dialog. I have rambled like crazy on this one. I don't even know if its easy to follow and my wife is asleep so I can't have her spell check it so " you get what you get and you don't throw a fit" *update she read it for me lol
